About Us

After 10 years of growing and selling USDA Certified Organic culinary and medicinal plants wholesale and retail at farm markets, Buck Mountain Herbs has changed direction.  We are now focusing on specialty plants used for dyeing by the fabric and textile community and some endangered native species. 

I am enjoying learning about and dyeing fabrics with my own plants such as Indigo Persicaria, Dyers Chamomile, Tansy, Dyers Coreopsis as well as common wild plants such as Barberry, Staghorn Sumac, tree barks, Goldenrod and Knotweed. 

This winter, after the business of the harvest season and dying fabrics, I will post here articles and links to resources to help the beginning dyer get started.

I welcome special requests for plant starts – just contact me by January for timely seed ordering.  Otherwise, check this page for available dye plants by May 1st. 2025.
